Living in Papua New Guinea is much different than in the U.S. and there are many things that are virtually impossible to find in the stores. It’s not that we can’t do without, but we’re often asked what we would like to receive in the mail. That’s why we’ve compiled this list in order of priority.

Please be aware that whatever you send should be sent AIRMAIL, as surface mail very rarely reaches its final destination. Be sure that all packages are wrapped and taped securely and a customs form is attached (green form at the post office). On the customs form, mark the box as a“gift” and give a broad definition of the contents. You do not need to be specific. For example, food items could be defined as “condiments”. Mechanical pencils can be called ‘educational materials”. Because the items are considered a gift, you do not have to declare a value. It’s best if you remove the outer packaging from the items you send, not only to reduce the weight but to reduce the appearance of sending items that could possibly be resold. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact us.
